PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lock an opening/closing member only when it is completely closed. SOLUTION: In a locking device 10, an opening 56 is formed in a hook case 12 which rotatably supports a hook unit 22. An upper part of the opening 56 is closed by a blocking part 62 of a shutter 60 when an opening/closing cover is open so that an engaging member may not be inserted. A latch pin 50 is mounted on the opening/closing cover. When the cover is closed, a latch hook 24 is rotated in an anticlockwise direction as shown in the drawing, and enters a channel part 54. The shutter 60 is rotated by the latch pin 50 by the intermediary of an arm part 64 to open the upper part of the opening 56. Thus, the engaging member (the bolt) mounted on a cylinder of a lock is inserted into the upper part of the opening 56 to carry out the locking. The engaging member hinders the rotation of the latch hook 24 to hold it at the latching position and locks the latch pin 50. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
