摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a compound forming a linker for bonding a soluble polymer carrier consisting of a polyethylene glycol derivative to a compound having OH group. SOLUTION: An ethylene glycol polymer derivative modified with methylthiomethyl group and expressed by the formula: CH<SB>3</SB>-O-(CH<SB>2</SB>CH<SB>2</SB>O)<SB>n</SB>-CH<SB>2</SB>-S-CH<SB>3</SB>[wherein, (n) is 1-900, preferably 110±integer] is obtained by converting the hydroxy terminal of a polyethylene glycol monomethyl ether forming the polymer carrier part into methylthiomethyl ether for supplying the linker part.
