摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device of which the readout resolution is improved while the mechanical strength is maintained. SOLUTION: An optical sensor 44 is disposed on an optical sensor array substrate 23 functioning as a counter substrate. The optical sensor array substrate 23 is made to oppose a TFT array substrate 22 and is laminated thereto so as to form a liquid crystal cell 21. A distance from a surface of the optical sensor array substrate 23 to the optical sensor 44 is made small. Diffusion of reflected light L<SB>2</SB>in the optical sensor array substrate 23 is prevented. The readout resolution by the optical sensor 44 is improved. A glass substrate 41 of the optical sensor array substrate 23 is not polished. There is no problem in the mechanical strength of the optical sensor array substrate 23. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
