<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup device excellent in detection of a tracking error signal regarding an optical pickup device for obtaining a tracking error signal by detecting a reflected light from an optical recording medium, an optical disk device, and a tracking error signal detecting method. <P>SOLUTION: This optical pickup device is provided with a light source, a converging means for converging a laser beam emitted from the light source on an optical disk, a dividing means for dividing, by using a 0-order light among reflected lights from the optical disk as a reference in a state in which the converging spot of the laser beam is set on-track on the optical disk by the converging means, the first overlapped ares 3b, 3d of 0-order and -1st order diffracted lights and the second overlapped areas 3c, 3e of 0-order and +1 st order lights through the opening center of the 0-order light by a boundary line extended in a radial direction, thereby obtaining four divided areas 3b to 3e, and a detecting means for independently detecting the reflected lights of the divided areas divided by the dividing means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
