<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic device which becomes thin when a display unit is closed while having an input detecting device and a transparent plate which are to be overlaid on the display unit. <P>SOLUTION: The electronic device is provided with the display unit 12 which is pivotally supported by a main body unit 11 so as to be opened/closed freely. On the display unit 12, the transparent plate 24 for protecting a display screen and an input position detecting part 25 are overlaid and provided.
