BLACK LEVEL CORRECTION CIRCUIT AND BLACK LEVEL CORRECTION METHOD FOR VIDEO CAMERA DEVICE USING SOLID-STATE IMAGING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a black level correction circuit for video camera devices which corrects a black level to a no-signal level and removes fixed-pattern noise. SOLUTION: The black level correction circuit is provided with; a means which compares average luminance of each horizontal line for an optical black area of a reference black image and that for an optical black area of an input image with each other per horizontal line and obtains gains for equalizing the optical black level of the reference black image to that of the input image, per horizontal line; a means for multiplying respective pixel values of corresponding horizontal lines of an effective pixel area of the reference black image by the gains obtained per horizontal line; and a means for subtracting pixel values obtained by multiplication from pixel values of corresponding pixels in an effective pixel area of the input image.
