FIELD: electronic engineering; beam generation for ring-shaped active medium lasers. ^ SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes organization of gain distribution throughout sectional area of active medium with ring distribution of gain excess above resonator loss. Proportion between external and internal diameters dext and dint, respectively, on boundaries of gain excess above resonator loss throughout beam section is chosen from following expression: 2.21 < dext/dint < 2.61. ^ EFFECT: reduced divergence of laser beam at minimal output radiation power loss without complicating resonator mechanical design. ^ 2 cl
