<p>Ball loading and trailer mass measurement is effected with the aid of a suitable towing hook (1) or tow bar and involves the application of elastic strips (3) on the hook or tow bar and an acceleration sensor (2) measuring acceleration in two directions. The signals are digitalized and processed by a microprocessor connection (4). The measured values and indications for the user are reproduced on a possibly wireless connected display (5). The whole process involves calculation of ball pressure on the basis of digitalized elasticity strip signals, the determination of the average roll and wind resistance of the trailer at two different speeds (V1,V2), the determination of the trailer mass on the basis of tractive force based on elasticity strip signals, corrected for average roll resistance and the measured acceleration between the two different speeds in accordance with the formula: Force = mass *acceleration, measurement of brake retardation or acceleration of a motor car, measurement of the angle of inclination of a motor car.</p> |
