PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce manufacturing cost by eliminating a heating and hardening process to harden adhesive and a leaked adhesive removing process thereby drastically shortening an assembling time, and shortening the end face grinding time of a ferrule. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a heating and holding means (20) and a movable and holding means (30). In the heating and holding means (20), a ferrule section (1a) and a flange section (1b) are integrally molded. While holding a ferrule (1), in which a through-hole (2a) and an insertion hole (2b) are respectively formed into holes so that they can be closely contacted to a primary coated optical fiber section (5a) and a tip section (5b) to be covered while they are not heated, is held and heated and the through-hole (2a) and the insertion hole (2b) are expanded to respectively have hole diameters so that the primary coated optical fiber section (5a) and the tip section (5b) can be respectively inserted. In the movable and holding means (30), while an optical fiber is held and moved from the flange section (1b) of the ferrule to the heating and holding means (20), the primary coated optical fiber section (5a) and the tip section (5b) are respectively inserted into the through-hole (2a) and the insertion hole (2b) of the ferrule that is in an expanded condition.
