A recording device controlled by a multitask operating system in which the turnaround time is not guaranteed. The recording device records a content supplied as a stream more easily and without loss. An audio data processing program (83) controls the reception of entered audio data. A recording application program (85) controls the recording of entered audio data onto an HDD (14). A socket service program (84-1) receives audio data from the audio data processing program (83) under control of a first process and controls the transfer of audio data under control of a second process only for a period during which data to be transferred to the recording application program (85) is received. The second process is terminated immediately after the transfer is ended. The present invention is applicable to a recording/reproduction device that records or reproduces audio data.
