<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple optical pickup which condenses light on a optical disk in a favorable spot state, and provides good resolution. <P>SOLUTION: The optical pickup comprises: a 1st light source and a 2nd light source differing in emission wavelengths; a 1st mirror which reflects the light from the 1st light source and transmits the light returning from the optical disk; a 2nd mirror which reflects the light from the 1st mirror and transmits the light from the 1st mirror and reflects the light returning from the optical disk; an optical system which condenses the light reflected or transmitted by the 2nd mirror on the optical disk and guides the light returning from the optical disk to the 2nd mirror; and a light receiving element for receiving the light which is reflected by the optical disk, guided to the 2nd mirror by the optical system, reflected by the 2nd mirror, and transmitted by the 1st mirror. Herein, an aberration generating optical element is provided between the 2nd light source and the 2nd mirror, and an amount of aberration being the total of an amount of aberration occurring when the light emitted from the 2nd light source is transmitted through the 2nd mirror before reaching the optical disk and an amount of aberration occurring in the aberration generating optical element is set so as to be smaller than an amount of aberration occurring when the light passes through the 2nd mirror. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
