摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas diffusion electrode for a solid polymer fuel cell in which a closing phenomenon caused by water hardly occurs even in a use for a long period and gas can be supplied stably, and a solid polymer fuel cell using the same. <P>SOLUTION: This gas diffusion electrode for the solid polymer fuel cell has carbon paper and a carbon layer that is formed on one side or both sides of the paper and is composed of carbon black and polytetrafluoroethylene. A thickness in which the carbon layer enters in the thickness direction of the carbon paper is in a range of 3-35 &mu;m. This gas diffusion electrode can be manufactured by coating on one side or both sides of the carbon paper slurry in which carbon black particles and polytetrafluoroethylene particles having a number average particle size of 0.05-3 &mu;m are dispersed in an alcohol system dispersion medium containing low boiling-point alcohol having a boiling point of 90&deg;C or lower, and by calcining the coating layer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
