<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring system capable of operating over a long term without causing any increase in the traffic of a communication line for connecting a monitor and a configuration management device. <P>SOLUTION: Respective monitors are distributed while being connected with a configuration management device through a communication line. The configuration management device specifies a monitor storing a smallest number of pieces of monitor result information. The monitor storing a smallest number of pieces of monitor result information stores the monitor result information.
