PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method permitting excellent character quality on the background image and excellent image quality of shadow image in the image forming method of forming a full color toner image by using a toner for developing electrostatic charge image of four colors of yellow, magenta, cyan and black. SOLUTION: In the image forming method, the full color toner image is formed by superposing the above toner for four colors of yellow, magenta, cyan and black on a transfer material. The release agent content of black toner is 4 mass% or more and 13 mass% or less, the release agent content of yellow toner is 15 mass% or more and 30 mass% or less and the release agent content of magenta and cyan toner is 10 mass% or more and 23 mass% or less.
