PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device which does not cause wrinkles and image blurring, is optimum in both-sided batch transfer of images, and can be applied even to a high-speed image forming apparatus which forms color images on both sides of continuous web such as continuous paper. SOLUTION: The fixing device fixes a toner image onto a transfer medium 10 by passing through a transfer medium 10 with an unfixed toner image between fixing rollers (51 and 52) having elastic layers (55 and 56) on their surfaces, which are in press-contact with each other. Highly heat-conductive means (70 and 80) are provided so as to be in contact with the surfaces of the fixing rollers (51 and 52) in their axial directions. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
