<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restore a modem to an initial state for permitting remote monitoring when the modem comes into abnormal conditions such as a hang-up due to some reason. <P>SOLUTION: An optical transmitter includes an upload electric-optic conversion unit 13 for converting an optic signal transmitted via an upload optic fiber into an electric signal, a download electric-optic conversion unit 12 for converting the electric signal into the optic signal and transmitting it via a download optic fiber, a monitor control unit 19 for detecting a failure in the transmitter and alarm-informing a monitor of the failure, a modem 21 connecting the monitor with the optical transmitter, and a modem power supply device 20 for supplying the power to the modem 21. When the monitor control unit 19 detects that the modem 21 comes into abnormal conditions such as a hang-up, it restores the modem 21 to its initial state by stopping the operation of the modem power supply device 20. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
