PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a convenient imaging apparatus which can be operated with both right and left hands. SOLUTION: A monitor 18 is fixed to a camera body 12 through a hinge unit 30. The hinge unit 30 consists of a hinge block 32, a rotation block 34 and a turning block 36 wherein the monitor 18 is supported by the hinge block 32 to open/close freely and supported by the rotation block 34 to rotate freely about the axis 44 of rotation. Furthermore, it is supported by the turning block 36 to move freely between the right side face and the left side face of the camera body 12.
