PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To find the absorbance ratio by easily removing noise from an observation signal on which the noise is superimposed and extracting pulse wave data. SOLUTION: Light with two different wavelengths is radiated to an organic tissue, and the transmitting or reflected light with each wavelength is converted to electric signals. Then, noise is removed from the measured pulse wave data of each wavelength obtained as above. In the method of signal processing, the measured pulse wave data of each wavelength are divided into pulse wave signals and noise signals by whitening the measured pulse wave data by the affine transformation using a known absorbance ratio or by dividing a signal frequency range into a plurality of sections and analyzing the components independently.
