PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate specification of a factor of abnormality in a unit. SOLUTION: An information communication system is provided with a refrigerator-freezer (unit) 10, a portable telephone set (portable terminal) 13 realizing infrared ray communication with the unit, a web server 17 connected to the portable telephone set 13 via the Internet 15, and a data base server 19 connected to the web server 17. A serviceman obtains data on an operation situation from the refrigerator-freezer 10 by using the portable telephone set 13, and diagnosis based on the data is performed by a program in the portable telephone set 13. A diagnosis result (cause of the abnormality) is displayed. When a prescribed site is accessed via the Internet 15, the web server 17 specifies the component identification code of a component related to the cause of the abnormality and transmits it to the portable telephone set 13.
