<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain excellent image quality by restraining the variation of a transfer condition from an intermediate transfer medium to a recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: Squeezing rollers 51 to 53 and a carrier applying device 57 are arranged to be opposed between a primary transfer position 44 and a secondary transfer position 45 on an intermediate transfer roller 41. The rollers 51 to 53 are disposed to move back and forth between a contact position where they come into contact with developer on the roller 41 and a separate position where they do not come into contact with the developer. By arranging the rollers 51 to 53 at the contact position, liquid carrier is peeled from the roller 41. The peeling amount of the liquid carrier is controlled by the combination of the rollers 51 to 53 arranged at the contact position. Meanwhile, the carrier applying device 57 controls the applied amount of the liquid carrier applied to the roller 41. The peeling amount and the applied amount of the liquid carrier on the roller 41 are controlled to adjust the toner concentration of the developer 32 adhering to the roller 41. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
