<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoelectric conversion element having a high conversion efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: In a photoelectric conversion element having a dye-sensitized semiconductor electrode, the semiconductor electrode is configured to cause a sensitized dye to be supported on a porous film consisting of conductive fibers such as a carbon fiber and metallic oxide semiconductors such as a titanium oxide (TiO<SB>2</SB>). The porous film is preferably formed by a supercritical sol-gel process. In addition, it is preferably to select a sensitized dye which has been absorbed to a metallic oxide in a subcritical liquid. Further, as electrically conductive fibers, it is preferable to use a carbon fiber, a metallic fine wire, a silver microfine wire, a copper microfine wire, and others. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
