PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retrieval classifying system for easily acquiring information belonging to a popular category. SOLUTION: This retrieval classifying system is configured by connecting a retrieval classifying server having a database in which information classified into categories is stored and managed through a network to a plurality of terminal equipment to extract information corresponding to conditions requested by the terminal equipment from the database, and to output the information to the terminal equipment. At first, the date information when the retrieval request is made is added to the category of the retrieval request inputted by a user or retrieval conditions, and time-sequentially stored as a retrieval log. Then, retrieval words whose frequency is high are extracted as the category from the retrieval log, and the category is selected by the user from categories displayed on the picture of the terminal equipment, and the database is retrieved by using the selected category as the retrieval conditions. This retrieval result is transmitted to the terminal equipment, and displayed on the picture so that the information for the popular category can be easily acquired. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
