PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide therapeutic agents excellent in treatment of retroperitoneal fibrosis and treatment of hydronephrosis caused by retroperitoneal fibrosis. SOLUTION: The therapeutic agent for retroperitoneal fibrosis and the therapeutic agent for hydronephrosis caused by retroperitoneal fibrosis comprise each (±)-[2-[4-(3-ethoxy-2-hydroxypropoxy)phenylcarbamoyl]ethyl]dimethylsulfonium p-toluenesulfonate as an active ingredient.
