PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely read an image by preventing the deficiency of the image of an object to be read. SOLUTION: In a medical image processor 10, when a candidate of an abnormal shade is detected from a medical image and image processing is performed, a diagnostic image where information about the candidate of the abnormal shade is layout on the medical image in which the candidate of the abnormal shade is detected is created, and it is discriminated whether the diagnostic image is normally oututted to a recording medium without generating the deficiency in an image recorder. When it is discriminated that the diagnostic image cannot be recorded normally, recording medium information is obtained from the image recorder 30, and the size of the recording medium is changed to a large size with which the entire image area of the diagnostic image can be recorded based on the recording medium information.
