INFORMATION RECORDING MEDIUM, ITS CONTROL METHOD, AND INFORMATION RECORDING AND REPRODUCING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high speed recording medium that can reliably maintain compatibility and can be manufactured at a low cost.

SOLUTION: The maximum linear velocity and the minimum linear velocity are individually set up for the inner area and the outer area of a disk, and they are recorded in control data. The recording device is controlled by selecting one of CLV/CAV controls or by CLV/CAV mixed controls. Since recording and reproducing are always made on a high speed recording medium under a condition intended by a manufacturer, the quality of the recorded signals is stabilized and the compatibility is improved between a plurality of drives.
