The machine has a housing which is preferably closed. A stator (2) and a rotor (3) are arranged inside the housing. An arrangement, particularly an air turbine (11) for generating a cooling air flow for cooling the rotor is integrated in the rotor. The air turbine is preferably formed as a channel system (12) having inlet and outlet openings either side of the rotor.
