<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a large excitation rush current flow at the time of starting the operation of a main transformer and to prevent the occurrence of an arc in a power supply side circuit breaker at the time of stopping the operation of that transformer. <P>SOLUTION: At the time of starting operation of a main transformer 2, a controller 18 excites the secondary winding 2b of the main transformer 2 through an inverter 11, monitors the interpole voltage of a power supply side circuit breaker 3, and closes the power supply side circuit breaker 3 when the interpole voltage becomes substantially 0. At the time of stopping operation of the main transformer 2, the controller 18 excites the secondary winding 2b of the main transformer through the inverter 11, monitors the interpole voltage of the power supply side circuit breaker 3 and the current flowing through the power supply side circuit breaker 3 and opens the power supply side circuit breaker 3 when that current becomes substantially 0. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
