PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly search an entry word matching an input character from the whole of downloaded dictionary data and dictionary data of a built-in dictionary, in an information display controller. SOLUTION: When an English/Japanese dictionary key 30b is pressed and a character input key 21 is operated for inputting "oe", an entry word candidate list display screen W70 displaying an entry word candidate list T70 of "oe" is displayed. In the entry word candidate list T70, entry word candidates including a registered entry word "OEM" searched from registered dictionary information is listed to be displayed, and a word "oe" in the uppermost level is displayed in a reverse video as an entry word selection marker M70. For example, when a direction pointing key 24 is operated to move the entry word selection marker 70 for displaying the entry word candidate "OEM" in reverse video and a translation/decision key 23 is pressed, a registered explanation information display screen W72 for displaying registered explanation information, which matches the registered entry word "OEM" read from a registered abbreviation (English) dictionary, is displayed.
