PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge ignition device for a combustion appliance capable of easily mounting and demounting a discharge electrode of an ignition plug and an output terminal of a high-voltage generator while applying a direct-coupled structure capable of inhibiting the lowering of a voltage caused by a connection cable, easily connecting the discharge electrode and the output terminal even when the displacement is found therebetween, simplifying its structure, and preventing the increase of the manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: The output terminal 34 is mounted in a state of being projected into a cylindrical part 33 from an external casing 21, and its insertion part 36 has an approximately polygonal shape when observed from an inserting side. When a voltage supply-side end part 13 of the discharge electrode 11 is inserted into the insertion part 36, the insertion part 36 is elastically deformed to expand a clearance 37, whereby an inner part of the insertion part 36 and an outer part of the voltage supply-side end part 13 are closely kept into contact with each other.
