<p>Bucket for use in a water wheel turbine has two curved half shells as bucket bottoms. On the concave side of a half shell, a deviating plate protruding into the bucket has a curved surface so that the direction of the water flowing into the bucket can be changed by 140-170[deg]. Each half shell has in its edge region facing away from the water inlet opening a non-closable wall opening (4) for air exchange facing the next bucket and a closable wall opening facing the bucket-free interior of the wheel. Preferred Features: The closable wall opening is provided with a sliding cover (6).</p>
