The switching device has an insulating housing provided with an arc extinction chamber and a termination chamber of similar volume and a rotary contact in the form of a 2-armed lever (80), having a first lever arm (81) provided with a contact piece (9') cooperating with a stationary contact (9'') of a first current rail (20') and a second lever arm (82) connected via a flexible conductor (22) with a second current rail (20''). The termination chamber contains an electromagnetic device (30) for amplification of the contact force, cooperating with the second lever arm in the closed position of the contact piece.
