THE LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE AND THE METHOD FOR FABRICATING THE SAME

An LCD(Liquid Crystal display) and a method for manufacturing the LCD are provided to prevent an alignment solution from being spread to a region where a sealant is disposed by forming a dam in a liquid crystal margin region. An LCD includes the first and second substrates(51a,51b) having an active region, a liquid crystal margin region and a non-display region, and a sealant(53) formed at the boundary of the non-display region and the liquid crystal margin region between the first and second substrates. The LCD further includes the first dam(60a) and the second dam formed on portions of the first and second substrates, which correspond to the liquid crystal margin region. The first and second dams prevent an alignment solution coated on the active region from being spread to the boundary between the non-display region and the liquid crystal margin region.
