A steel tape measure is provided to minimize the removal of a hook by maintaining a hanging state of the hook and an object to be measured. A steel tape measure is wound and received in a spring type. The steel tape measure includes a steel scale(3), a protrusion part, and a hook(4). The protrusion part(4) is integrally fixed to a front end part of the scale(3). The protrusion part(4) is hung on an object to be measured. A first plane part is provided on the upper surface of front end part of the scale(3) with a predetermined length. A second plane part(20) is constructed on a lower surface of the hook(4) so that the first plane part(10) is closed to the second plane part(20). The first plane part(10) pressurizes both sides of the scale(3).
