To provide an apparatus which efficiently removes salt in food waste by installing a separation membrane, thereby preventing reunion of decomposed salt, and also to prevent waste of electric power and improve salt removal efficiency by stopping removal of salt at a proper decomposition end point. An apparatus for removing salt of food waste comprises: a food waste salt removal unit(60) comprising a positive electrode part(10) connected to the anode of a power supply, a negative electrode part(20) connected to the cathode of the power supply, and a separation membrane(30) installed between the positive electrode part and the negative electrode part so that food waste is stored in a space between the positive electrode part and the separation membrane; and a container(70) in which the food waste salt removal unit is installed such that water(50) is stored in a space between the container and the food waste salt removal unit, wherein the container is equipped with a plurality of the food waste salt removal units, wherein the container has a cylindrical shape, and one cylindrical food waste salt removal unit is installed in the container, wherein the container has a rectangular box shape, and six rectangular box shaped food waste salt removal units are installed in the container, and wherein the food waste salt removal unit additionally comprises an exhaust means(65) for exhausting gas treated after electric voltage is impressed to the food waste salt removal unit.
