APPARATUS FOR SEPARATELY DETECTING ARC FAULTS OF LINE SIDE AND LOAD SIDE

An arc faults detector for AFCI(Arc Faults Circuit Interrupter) using a line/load side RF signal division method is provided to detect an arc fault by using an RF signal integrated by a comparing result of RF signals generated from line/load sides. A line side RF signal detector(11) detects a first RF signal generated from a line side on a cable. A load side RF signal detector(12) detects a second RF signal generated from a load side on the cable. An RF signal attenuator(13) attenuates the first and second RF signals which are detected by the line side RF signal detector(11) and the load side RF signal detector(12). An arc determination unit(25) determines whether an arc fault is generated from the load side by using the second RF signal which is integrated by a comparing result between the first RF signal of the line side RF signal detector(11) and the second RF signal of the load side RF signal detector(12).
