METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR REALIZING PROGRAM INFORMATION OF (AN) IMAGE DISPLAY DEVICE

An apparatus and a method for implementing program information of a video display apparatus are provided to make the program information displayed according to a condition set by a user without need of a separate manipulation if the user sets a program information automatic display function through menu setting. A key input part(19) receives a user request instruction. A memory(200) stores program information and a condition set by a user which are included in additional information separated in a demultiplexer(12). A control part(100) makes program information from a program information generation part(300) displayed along with a video signal separated in the demultiplexer according to the set condition stored in the memory. A switching part(15) selectively outputs the program information generated by a program information generation part in response to a control signal of the control part. A video signal processing part(400) processes the video signal outputted from the demultiplexer and the program information outputted from the switching part so that they can be displayed according to a user's request.
