A valve tappet of a valve system is provided to increase opening speed of a valve without using an EMV(Electro-Mechanical Valve train) by longitudinally forming a contact surface of the valve tappet with a cam. A valve tappet(16) is combined with an end of a valve to transmit motion of a cam(4) to the valve, and a contact surface of the valve tappet contacted to the cam is formed longitudinally. A section of the contact surface of the valve tappet with the cam is formed elliptically or elongated. The diameter of the valve tappet is increased while minimizing increase of mass of the valve tappet and keeping the size of a cylinder head by forming the valve tappet unidirectionally and longitudinally. The opening speed of the valve is increased by modifying the shape of the valve tappet.
