PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel injection controller for an internal combustion engine capable of changing compression ratio to control amount of fuel injection in accordance with compression ratio precisely. SOLUTION: This fuel injection controller 1 for the internal combustion engine 3 injects fuel into a combustion chamber 7 of the internal combustion engine 3 from an injector 14 directly and is provided with a variable compression device 2 having a variable compression mechanism 2a capable of changing compression ratio of the internal combustion engine 3. This fuel injection controller 1 is provided with a fuel injection amount setting means 13 for setting amount of fuel to be injected from the injector 14, a compression ratio inferring means 13 for inferring compression ratio of the internal combustion engine 3, and a fuel injection amount compensation means 13 for compensating amount of fuel injection in accordance with the inferred compression ratio.
