PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface protective film or the like which is free from tearing or lifting at the time of metal plate bending, good in workability and also excellent in anchoring property. SOLUTION: In the surface protective sheet, on one side of the base material layer there is formed an adhesive layer which contains as the main component a resin mixture consisting of 90-60 wt% of a low density polyethylene and 10-40 wt% of an ethylene-α-olefin copolymer. The surface protective sheet has an Elmendorf tear strength of 0.1-0.9 N in both the machine direction (MD) and the transverse direction (TD), a ratio of tear strength (MD/TD) of 0.2-2.0, and a maximum stress (MD and TD) of 20-30 MPa. A method of bending a metal plate using the above surface protective sheet is provided. A pasting apparatus mounting the above surface protective sheet as a pasting material is provided.
