The system (1) has a fuel cell, a reformer and a water recovery device. The water recovery device has a water exchange device (22) with a gas/gas water exchanger (21) and/or an absorption medium. The gas/gas water exchanger is connected into an induction air volumetric flow and an exhaust gas flow (19), especially a reformer exhaust gas volumetric flow (49), of the fuel system. An independent claim is also included for a method of moisturizing a gas volumetric flow.
