The invention relates to a support device (2) which is used to stabilise at least one dish (1) or similar element comprising at least one container part (7) having an essentially-flared shape, such as a standard plate. The inventive device comprises a hollow crown having a shape which is essentially identical to that of the contour or the periphery of the container part (7) of the dish (1), such that said container part (7) can be disposed in the crown. The invention is characterised in that the crown comprises an upper part (3) which is in contact with the container part (7) and which is flexible such that it can change shape under the weight of the dish (1) and the contents thereof and/or owing to the movement of said dish (1).
