STEREOSCOPIC IMAGE DISPLAY DEVICE AND METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stereoscopic image display device and a stereoscopic image display method with which visual fatigue resulting from observation of stereoscopic images is reduced.

SOLUTION: When an image for a left eye and an image for a right eye are displayed on a screen 100, the depth distance P0 of a display object 10 is nonlinearly converted to the depth distance P1 of a display position 30 of a stereoscopic image by P1=g√(P0)+k where g is a coefficient representative of a gain and k is a coefficient representative of offset so that the display position 30 of the stereoscopic image can be within the focal depth FD of an observer. The display position 30 of the stereoscopic image can be shifted to the depth side of the screen 100 by setting the coefficient k to a positive value.
