PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control engine torque of a vehicle equipped with an automatic gear capable of manual up shifting to obtain smooth gear shift while suppressing change in forward/rearward acceleration occurring when manual upshift is performed. SOLUTION: When manual upshift is commanded by a driver, the device calculates and performs the throttle start time and degree of throttle opening according to the driving state of the vehicle in a feed forward manner, and when gear ratio is detected to be lowered to the middle of the lowering width, the device releases the throttling of the throttle opening.
