PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material for organic electroluminescent devices having high emission luminance and efficiency of luminescence and excellent stability in repeated use, and an organic electroluminescent device using it. SOLUTION: The material for organic electroluminescent devices contains (A) a nitrogen-containing cyclic compound having an electron-attracting group having a double bond on the ring and (B) a phosphorescence luminescent material.
