PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing refined tricyclo[5.2.1.0<SP>2,6</SP>]decane-2-carboxylic acid ethyl ester in which a trace amount of impurity aldehyde, etc., can effectively be removed from a crudely refined product of tricyclo[5.2.1.0<SP>2,6</SP>]decane-2-carboxylic acid ethyl ester. SOLUTION: In the method for producing the tricyclo[5.2.1.0<SP>2,6</SP>]decane-2-carboxylic acid ethyl ester by reacting tricyclo[5.2.1.0<SP>2,6</SP>]dec-3-ene with carbon monoxide and ethanol in the presence of HF, the crudely refined product of tricyclo[5.2.1.0<SP>2,6</SP>]decane-2-carboxylic acid ethyl ester is subjected to contact treatment with a specific glycol in the presence of an acid catalyst and then distilled.
