<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide image processing capable of properly performing object detection such as red-eye detection on a natural object varied in its condition. <P>SOLUTION: This image processing device is provided with a plurality of determination means detecting an object from an input image, and when detection of the object is sequentially carried out by the two or more determination means, an area of a final object in the input image is detected. Using the area detection result, positional coordinates of the final object in the input image are computed, and at least one of the determination means detects the object by using the detection result of the determination means performing processing previously.
