PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil level gage allowing easy following even when a guide passage to an oil tank is bent three-dimensionally, capable of preventing feeling and sealability of a grasping part from being impaired, capable of facilitating manufacturing work, and capable of reducing a cost, and a manufacturing method therefor. SOLUTION: This oil level gage 10 inserted into the oil tank for an automobile engine or the like to check an oil amount thereof is provided with the resin grasping part 12, a resin gage part 13, and a metal wire 11. Attaching holes 18, 21 pressed in with both ends of the wire 11, windows 20, 24 opened in a peripheral wall and communicated with the attaching holes 18, 21 are provided in the resin grasping part 12 and the resin gage part 13, the wire 11 has protrusions formed by calking portions exposed from the windows 20, 24, and the protrusions are bit in resins of the grasping part 12 and the gage part 13 to fix the wire 11 slipping-off-preventingly.
