PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sterilizing method capable of obtaining high sterilization effects while reducing a consumption of a cleaning solvent. SOLUTION: A step S11 for bringing a container 1 into contact with a bactericide for sterilizing the container 1, a step S13 for supplying the cleaning solvent to remove the bactericide to the container 1 sterilized by the bactericide, a step S14 for stopping the supply of the cleaning solvent to keep the container 1 in contact with the cleaning solvent, and steps S15 and S16 for removing the cleaning solvent remaining in contact with the container 1 are carried out to remove the residual bactericide in the container 1.
