PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove fine dust and to prevent deterioration in traveling durability and deterioration in an S/N ratio by suppressing the torque of a magnetic disk in a magnetic disk cartridge. SOLUTION: The magnetic disk 4 is provided with a support object having an areal recording density of≥158.7 Mbit/cm<SP>2</SP>, a substantially nonmagnetic lower layer which is provided on the support object, and a magnetic layer which is laminated on the lower layer and composed of ferromagnetic powder. The magnetic layer has 10 to 1,000 protrusions of≥10 nm height per 900μm<SP>2</SP>. A liner 6 consists of nonwoven fabric formed by divided fibers, which are obtained by subjecting a compound divided fiber to a fiber division process obtained by making the side faces of a plurality of fiber components adhere to each other.
