PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure the sufficient strength of an oxygen anion generation member composed of a solid electrolyte, and to increase the quantity of oxygen anions to be emitted. SOLUTION: A substrate 1c forming a cylindrical oxygen anion generation member 1 and a disk-shaped oxygen anion emission part 1a provided integrally at the tip thereof is made of zirconia having strength as a solid electrolyte. The whole face except a collar part 1b (on the side of a circular lamp 22) in the surface of the substrate 1c is coated with a thin layer 25 consisting of calcium aluminate as a solid electrolyte for generating oxygen anions. Thus, a large quantity of oxygen anions can stably be emitted, and further, the strength of the oxygen anion generation member 1 can be increased. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
